Want To Fix Congress? Add 5,500 New Representatives

“The result is predictable: today, there are more than 730,000 U.S. residents per member of Congress. At that ratio in 1789, the nation would have had a whopping eight congressmen. . . The Founding Fathers never would have tolerated such a narrow oligarchy.”

Why so many, on both sides of the aisle, are so up-in-arms with their government. Since the founding of the US, the Senate was perhaps destined for this role, although Senators used to be chosen by the state legislatures, but the House was supposed to be community representatives known by their communities.
